Holding the ghilaaf of the Ka'bah while making tawaaf

Q: Is there any penalty for holding the ghilaaf of the Ka'bah during tawaaf of umrah, or tawaaf in general? Also given the fact that it is perfumed, is there any penalty that one must pay for after holding the ghilaaf, because its itr came onto the person.

A: In general tawaaf, if you refer to holding after the tawaaf then this is not wrong. In the tawaaf of umrah, obviously you will be in ihraam, and in the state of ihraam to hold such perfumed things is not right.
